Murder on Tap Auditions
Murder on Tap has been postponed to January 2025. We are still accepting audition videos and will have more details soon.
Theatre Charlotte is excited to announce auditions for our upcoming murder mystery event, Murder on Tap. This audience interactive event will be held at Lost Worlds Brewery Metropolitan and Cornelius in January 2025.
ABOUT THE SHOW AND ROLES
Murder on Tap is a unique performance opportunity! Cast members serve as suspects and investigators. Suspects will perform a monologue for groups of audience members and learn their character’s backstory in order to respond to audience questioning. Investigators lead the audience groups from suspect to suspect and share pieces of evidence along the way.
We are looking for performers of any age, gender, and ethnicity. All roles require strong improv skills and audience interaction.
Two cast meetings/rehearsals will be held prior to performances (dates and times TBD).
AUDITION AND SIGN UP DETAILS
Auditions are by video submission only. In your video, please perform the below excerpt in two different styles. For example, you could be charming for the first reading and devastated for the second or anxious for the first reading and annoyed for the second or any combination of styles that show off your range.
Please fill out your audition form and submit your audition video here.
Audition script: (for your audition video, please perform this monologue in two styles of your choosing)
“It is a fact that my brother and I have not been extremely close through the years. But, recently, we were reunited when our dear father died. Our relationship has found a new dimension. When Myron explained the supposed curse which was upon him, I decided to make a game of it. I invited him to visit Highview to celebrate the comet's return to the solar system.
To ensure that we would get a good look at the comet, I contacted the university and offered to pay one of its faculty members to set up telescopes and provide scientific commentary on the comet. Just before lunch yesterday, Professor Goodfellow arrived with his three telescopes in cases. Zeus, our Great Dane, began barking at him loudly. Zeus just doesn't take to everyone.”
