MAGIC MEMORIES. FUTURE FIRSTS.
Can you believe a theatre that was first started in 1927 would still be around today? Or that it would be presenting a Season of Firsts — plays and musicals that have never been produced in that theatre before? You better believe it because that is exactly what Theatre Charlotte is doing!
Theatre Charlotte has had a lot of firsts. From our first name, Charlotte Drama League, to our first show, Outward Bound in 1928. Our first musical, The Boyfriend in 1959, to our first Shakespeare show, A Midsummer Night's Dream in 1975.
And over all that time, thousands of people have experienced firsts at Theatre Charlotte. For many, Theatre Charlotte has been the place where they saw their very first show or stepped on stage for the first time. For others, this was where they first directed, designed, or stage managed. For some lucky ones, Theatre Charlotte may have been where they first fell in love, conquered a fear, or achieved their dreams.
So it seemes fitting to celebrate our 90th season by producing five shows that are firsts for Theatre Charlotte. Join us in celebrating Theatre Charlotte's 90th season and all of the firsts that are still yet to come!
